In part one of this series we discussed the basics of Twitter, as well as how a business can benefit from Twitter through listening. While listening is always the best and most important way to use Twitter to benefit a business or organization, it is merely the first step. In part two, we will discuss marketing measures to take advantage of Twitter’s growing popularity that are a bit more proactive.

While it is true that a lot of people use Twitter for personal connections only, there are many out there who feel that a nice blend of personal and professional information is their cup of tea. In addition to personal status-type updates (i.e. “where I am,” “what I’m doing,” etc.), these users like to include information that relates to their field of business. Because Tweets are limited to 140 characters, these bits of informational wisdom are usually represented through links.

As any Internet marketer worth his salt knows, links are valuable. The practice of link-building is a key part of search engine optimization (SEO and is necessary in order to create a venerable web presence for companies of all sizes and industries. Because Twitter users often post links to Web sites that relate to their fields of business, this can be a great opportunity to link-build when approached in the correct manner. So, the next question is: “how can I get links to my site on Twitter?”

The first and most obvious method would be to post the links yourself. Although this method has some merit, it should be used with caution. The main SEO benefit of posting links to pages on your site via your Twitter account (or even your company’s Twitter account) is that these links will most likely be relevant for your network. Chances are good that your followers are interested in the same topics that are pertinent to your business. However, you might run the risk of sounding stale. Even if your most dedicated followers continue to click every link you post, most people will lose interest if all your Twitter account brings to the table is self-promotion.

The alternative is to find other people to post your links for you. Specifically, influencers who have incredible bases of followers, and engage in a field that is close to your business. These social media stars are everywhere and, for one reason or another, have gained the trust of tens of thousands of followers. Just like print journalists and radio DJs of past decades, having Twitter’s heavy-hitters on your side can bring good things.

How you ultimately build relationships with influencers on Twitter is up to you. It is probably not a good idea to direct message one of these individuals with a link to your site and request a re-tweet. Start slow. Begin by following the influencer and check out the kind of content they are broadcasting. See how their style and tone relates to what you have to offer. Then, start a dialogue with them. Ask them questions about what kinds of products or services they like, and why they like them. If you notice an interesting post they made, re-tweet it. Then, only once you have established a relationship, consider sending a link promoting a press release, new product or service.

Your link might not get around the first time, but if you are willing to put in the effort, it may wind up on hundreds of thousands of potential customers’ screens. If you are looking for more immediate results, you can also add “Tweet This” type links to your web pages.  These messages act like little hints encouraging visitors to your site that you want them to spread the word.

The SEO Tactics of Marketing

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” search results for targeted keywords. SEO efforts may involve a site’s coding, presentation, and structure, as well as fixing problems that could prevent search engine indexing programs from fully spidering a site. Other, more noticeable efforts may include adding unique content to a site, ensuring that content is easily indexed by search engine robots, and making the site more appealing to users. For SEO concerns, visit the SEO Philippines. Another class of techniques, known as black hat SEO or spamdexing, use methods such as link farms and keyword stuffing that tend to harm search engine user experience. Search engines look for sites that employ these techniques and may remove them from their indices. SEO techniques are classified by some into two broad categories: techniques that search engines recommend as part of good design and those techniques that search engines do not approve of and attempt to minimize the effect of, referred to as spamdexing. Industry commentators have classified these methods, and the practitioners who employ them, as either white hat SEO, or black hat SEO. White hats tend to produce results that last a long time, whereas black hats anticipate that their sites may eventually be banned either temporarily or permanently once the search engines discover what they are doing. Black hat SEO attempts to improve rankings in ways that are disapproved of by the search engines, or involve deception. One black hat technique uses text that is hidden, either as text colored similar to the background, in an invisible div, or positioned off screen. Another method gives a different page depending on whether the page is being requested by a human visitor or a search engine, a technique known as cloaking. A visible website on the search engine is more likely to be viewed and in this way, you stand to gain free traffic.

SEO is a crucial strategy which helps a website to gain better ranking on search engines. There are a couple of ways for SEO: keyword density, prominence, META tags, titles and inbound links. Let us take a look at each of the element in detail.

  • Keyword density: it means to use relevant keywords in the content of your webpage. This makes your website more relevant and thus search engines are likely to place such websites at the top of a search. For example, a weight loss website should have more keyword density on ‘diet’, ‘slimming’ etc.
  • Prominence of keyword: it means the position of your keywords. For example, by applying the keywords at the beginning and the end of the content of your website, your website will be deemed to be prominent and hence ranked high. The prominence of keywords also applies to codes of a website and the META tags.
  • Inbound links: these are links placed on other people’s website and help to increase traffic to yours. The relationship is simple; the more inbound links to your website, the higher your rank on the search. Think of it as an affirmation that your website is a credible one because other people are recommending your website. To strengthen these strategies, you should get your inbound links from websites that ranks well with the search engines.

To further understand the importance of SEO, think in terms of the habits of the internet users. Most of us would hardly surf past the 1st page of the results on a search engine. Now that you’ve received tips on how to boost your internet marketing business, I’ve a story to tell.

A miser sold all that he had and bought a lump of gold, which he buried in a hole in the ground by the side of an old wall and went to look at daily.

One of his workmen observed his frequent visits to the spot and decided to watch his movements. He soon discovered the secret of the hidden treasure, and digging down, came to the lump of gold, and stole it.

The Miser, on his next visit, found the hole empty and began to tear his hair and to make loud lamentations.

A neighbor, seeing him overcome with grief and learning the cause, said, “Pray do not grieve so; but go and take a stone, and place it in the hole, and fancy that the gold is still lying there. It will do you quite the same service; for when the gold was there, you had it not, as you did not make the slightest use of it.”

Search Engine Optimization can be very tricky when not done the correct way. One of the biggest challenges in SEO is the fact that people don’t realize its importance when drawing in traffic to a web site. Uninformed marketing specialists can easily make decisions that can harm the entire purpose behind Search Engine Optimization.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is defined as the process of improving the quality or volume of traffic to a web site from search engines. Unlike Search Engine Marketing (SEM), SEO does not deal with paid inclusion. The earlier a site appears in search result listings, typically the more visitors will receive them from the search engine.

CODANK Charlotte Web Design and Internet Marketing Company has put together a list of the most common mistakes made during Search Engine Optimization. The list includes:

  • Thin Content Pages – little to no content is present on the page
  • Use of Crawler Unfriendly Methods search engines deal better with HTML text rather than Flash files
  • Ignoring Title Tags – a title tag is important because it shows in the search results as your page title
  • Poor Content Management System – a CMS should be crawler-friendly in order to be beneficial
  • Poor Site Promotion – marketing goes beyond just launching a site; try inbound links
  • Wrong Keywords – be sure to select keywords and phrases which have relevance to your web site.
  • Images instead of Headings search engines need to read actual content; refrain from posting nothing but images
  • Backlink Spamming – quality backlinks are much better than just having numerous backlinks
  • Ignoring URLs – place keywords in an URL; helps with SEO
  • JavaScript Menus – crawlers cannot read JavaScript menus; try using a sitemap instead.

Search Engine Optimization Tips for affiliate marketing

search engine optimization tips

Search engines are into providing their users with the most relevant and up-to-date information to match the search term that was used.  They are sophisticated pieces of technology which allow users to quickly find relevant websites by searching for a word or a phrase. Search engine results are useless to users if the information doesn’t relate to the search term, or if the results are old. People expect the most up-to-date and fresh information that is useful to them.
Updating your website everyday and adding some materials will help you get noticed by the search engines. So, if you are going to sell any type of product or service online, you have to optimize your website for the search engines, in order to boost traffic and sales. It is because over 90% of your business will likely come directly from search engine results. And for that reason, it is absolutely important to optimize your site for search engines for you to have the greatest deals in the entire world.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process by which webmasters or online business owners utilize strategic copy to augment their website’s status.Making use of effective search engine optimization techniques will improve the page rank of your website. There are many tricks that can be used to increase page rank; the most effective method is to provide high quality content consistently. This seems like a simple concept but there are many websites that fail to provide content that visitors find interesting. Sites which provide content that are interesting, well-written and regularly updated create highly engaged visitors who are more likely to return to the website in the coming days.

The next significant factor for an effective search engine optimization is to include keywords and phrases within your content. To make sure that you are properly targeting your market, you have to make sure that the keywords and phrases you have on your site are the keywords and phrase that your site is actually optimized for. The more keywords you use in your content, the more likely it is that online visitors will find your site when they do some research with those words. If you are unfailing with these techniques, then your overall search engine optimization will increase, boosting your page rank.

Now here are a couple of  great  search engine optimization tips and methods  that I personally use on a daily basis to help you get great performing keywords.

TIP 1:

What you need to do is to use the Google keyword tool. In my experience that’s all you need. Its covers a wider range of dates and browser habits than Wordtracker and other paid ones do and best of all its free. You want to rank high in the number one search engine in the world and that’s Google so use their keyword tool. You will have to dig deep to uncover gems but you will find them.

TIP 2:

Base your domain name on your keyword which ideally will be one that has a high search but low supply by anyone else. If you do that you will more likely be able to dominate for that keyword search.

TIP 3:

If the keyword isnt available as a .com (the best extension to buy) and is available as a .net and is a very good keyword, have a look at the .com website. Very often it wont exist because people buy them for resale or if the site does exist look and see if you can put together a better one. Either way, go ahead and buy the .net variant if it looks worth it. I have uncovered amazing keywords using the Google keyword tool that have a monthly worlwide search on 2 million with little competition! Most of my sites are at the top of Google for their chosen keywords and remain there because of these methods. I don’t have to do much to them for them to retain their position.

TIP 4:

If you find a high demand low supply keyword that has been bought as a domain for all variants you can still rank high for that keyword. Create a sub-page for your site and name that sub-page as that keyword. Then SEO that page for that keyword and you will see it on page 1 of Google within a week or two. I do this all the time.

TIP 5:

If you know server scripting, use a server side script with cronjobs to automatically ping all the search engines (or do it manually) on a periodic basic much like Wordpress does. Its not that difficult to use these scripts.

Ok so what affiliate product should you sell. Well say its a product by abc. Go to Alexa.com and type in abcs website and Alexa will tell you how popular that site is and trends. Some sites will have a very high % increase – 3000% or more (green arrow) and other will have a red arrow negative visitor trends. i use this method to decide what products to sell. You can also use “Google insight for trends”.
Always keep in mind that search engine optimization methods are important in developing your site’s status. With that thing in mind, make sure that you write high-quality, keyword rich content and link your site to and from a deliberate family of other sites. These things will help improve your site’s popularity and coerce increased business through your online business.
